Profile

Retired young baby boomer (born only two years before the Gen X cohort) currently living in Florence, South Carolina. I was born and raised in the northeastern part of upstate New York. I also attended college in that region as well. After college, I moved around the country, primarily for my job. Since college, the sates and/or cities I've lived in are as follows: Maryland, California, Ohio (Cleveland), Florida (Orlando), Georgia, and now South Carolina. Out of all the places I've lived, I would have to say Orlando has been my favorite primarily because of the types of friends I made while living there. It's also where I spent the second longest amount of time living. My longest, thus far, is where I grew up in New York. Though I don't discuss politics much, I'm definitely socially liberal in that I favor bodily autonomy for women and support marriage equality for those in the LGBTQ+ communities. I favor a capitalist society with social safety nets such as social security, welfare, etc. based on genuine need. I suppose that "genuine need" part might tend me to lean a tiny bit conservative when it comes to fiscal policy. Finally, I miss the LJ days and am thankful that I've found Dreamwidth Studios. I long for the days when people finally get tired of the intrusiveness (for lack of a better word), of FB, Twitter, and other social media of their ilk and come back to a platform like this.
